Associate Professor (Reader) in Plant Breeding & Quantitative Genetics · Federal University of Technology, Akure

I work across crop improvement, agricultural experimentation, quantitative analysis, education and research technology. I also write about faith, work, learning and the things I am discovering along the way.

Research signature

More than two decades with an indigenous crop that still has much to teach us.

Fluted pumpkin (Telfairia occidentalis) is a long-running thread in my research: genetic diversity, marketable leaf yield, reproductive biology, seedling variation and the quantitative questions that matter when an underutilised crop is to be improved deliberately.

Teaching & building

From statistical reasoning to research infrastructure.

Teaching, software and capacity building are extensions of the same concern: helping researchers move from field observations to conclusions they can defend.

Teaching

Research question → design → analysis → biological conclusion

Biostatistics, experimental design, genetics and quantitative methods taught through agricultural problems rather than software clicks.

Writing

Scholarship is only one part of what I want to leave in writing.

Books, essays, reflections and spiritual writing have a permanent home here. Some pieces are academic; others come from work, faith, service and the ordinary discipline of paying attention.
